Twisted Metal: Black had one licensed song, and that was all it needed. Not since Avril Lavigne’s “Boyfriend” appeared in Burnout Paradise has there been a more mismatched licensed soundtrack in a game. While the visuals are passable, the music is far, far worse.
Not terrible, mind you, as it has its moments - just dated. By almost any other standard, Twisted Metal looks dated. It's an intense and enjoyable gaming experience that will keep you coming back for more.While this edition is definitely an improvement over previous Twisted Metal games, every single one of which has featured muddy, bare-bones graphics and super-chunky pixels, that’s not really saying much, especially considering they were all on much older hardware. Its fast-paced action, varied characters and levels, and excellent soundtrack make it a must-play for any fan of the vehicular combat genre. Twisted Metal 2 is a timeless classic that still holds up to this day. The soundtrack is also particularly noteworthy, featuring a mix of rock and hip-hop songs that perfectly capture the grim and chaotic atmosphere of the game. The controls are smooth and responsive, allowing players to move quickly and accurately while dodging enemy attacks. The game is notable for its detailed graphics and its expansive levels, which feature a wide range of environments.
